What Counts Toward Your Water Intake?

Besides the obvious, does decaf coffee and milk count?

I know coffee and any kind of tea does not count toward my fluid intake, as well as the obvious milk. I was told water, and all kinds of juices count. Really everything but the protein drinks, coffee and any kind of teas, hot or cold. Hope that helped ;-)

Not sure how far out from surgery you are, but if you are having problems with liquid another great way to get them down is by sugar free Popsicles. They were my savior the first couple of weeks. I found this lemonade, it's called Minute Maid 15 calories and it only has like 2grams of sugar in it. You can get it in the cold drink section of super market

All liquids count while you're on your liquid diet, including your shakes, broth and even gelatin!

Later on, when you're well healed and eating normally, I don't count my coffee, tea or shake as part of my Water intake. I aim for a full 64 ounces on top of my other beverages. But I'm a ways out from surgery and for most people this takes time.

My NUT said anything without caffeine counts as fluids.

Shakes have never counted towards my liquid intake, pre op or post op for me.

Have to agree on the sugar free pops. Have all you can handle, its just water!

I remember when I have done weight watchers in the past it was the same - everything except caffeine and alcohol.
