Should we buy the grocery store small turkey dinner (turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole and cranberry fluff) for my husband and I can have pureed turkey. Or should I send him to a friend's house for a big dinner. Or should we stay home and he can have a turkey sandwich?

My post-op diet, and diet before leaving the hospital, is pureed with no liquid Protein diet.

If you are still to be on liquid at Thanksgiving and you think it will tempt you.... Send him away and then enjoy the day!!!

Thanksgiving is not all about the food, id much rather spend the day with the one I love and enjoy that time..I will be on liquids, cottage cheese, ricotta and eggs but not stressed about it because I will to busy enjoying my time...I have planned a small dinner for him and I will have baked ricotta..

Guess I read it wrong or we just have different post op... are you saying your POST OP diet is puree food? Can you do Protein shakes? When is your procedure?

My surgeon and Nut do not believe in using liquid Proteins. No protein shakes. Have to have eaten pureed before being discharged from the hospital. Their experience has been that the quicker you learn to eat "normal" food, even if it's pureed, the fast you regain your life.

I can add powdered milk to my two cups of milk Snacks every day.
