Stitches!

Hi everyone. I'm one week post op and have my fu appt w my dr on Wednesday. I was given the ok to take the gauze and plastic bandage off but to leave the steri strips alone. They are supposed to fall off on their own. But I noticed that I do have stitches. So do they dissolve or does the dr take them out?! Has anyone had to have their stitches remove? I know when I had mine taken out from foot surgery. It hurt like hell! Please tell me they use dissolving stitches! Lol.

Hi Stace, my stitches dissolved over time. I did not have to have them removed. I had internal stitches too and they dissolved as well. I am 7 months post op and my incisions are still pink and I am sure they will be hard to see a year from now.

Thank you! I hope that mine will dissolve on their own as well.
