The doctor had me do all me pre OP stuff while they submitted for approval and I have my surgery date of Nov 22 the day before my birthday! As I was told the surgeon wants no surprises so I had to do blood work (don't ask what they wanted to see I didn't understand it all) I had to do an upper GI (barium is not as nasty as I thought just thick) and Cardiac clearance with a cardiologist which I had an abnormal EKG that lead to a normal stress test then clearance. It was a few hoops but completed in a couple weeks. Annoying but a necessary evil.

P.S. the cardio clearance is also demanded by the anesthesiologist.
