For the first week I just don't think it's possible to truly be comfortable. I took my pain meds and then practically made a nest with pillows. Which every way I might have turned there was a soft pillow to rest on. Also try being active during the day. Just a lil bit will help you sleep better.

I couldn't agree more! I don't think you can get truly comfortable for the first week. I sat in a recliner a lot - I just couldn't get comfortable anywhere else. And I used an ice pack on my port incision, as that was the most uncomfortable spot. I slept with a body pillow too, and only slept on my right side, since my port is on my left side. Be sure to keep taking your pain meds. They are your friend during that first week, and will help you sleep!

Had the same as carolinagirl and if we had not been on opposite coasts I would have thought we had the same doctor. I was told the same. I too spent a few nights in a recliner after surgery but on night 3 or 4 I was able to go to bed without too much pain. It seems if you have plication there is less chance of a slip issue with the band.
