June 18, 201313 yr Hi I'm new here, just got my I.V taken out going home soon. Still in pain and worried about liquid intake . I hear 1 ounce every 15 min is good? Any suggestions. Thanks
June 19, 201313 yr Hello and congratulations Anna, where did you get your surgery done? Did they not tell you how much fluid to take in and how often?
June 20, 201313 yr Author Yes they told me everything I have to do. Was just trying to get some input from experience. Thanks for the rudeness.
June 20, 201313 yr My apologies!! I was not trying to be rude on purpose, truly .... I hope everything works out for in every way u want .... I am still in the learning stage. My surgery is this Friday with OCC. Where did u have your surgery?
June 20, 201313 yr Author Sorry I was having a rough day yesterday. I was rude myself. I got it done in Brooklyn N.Y. Methodist hospital. Good luck on yours.. Today is my 3rd day feeling about 50% better. I'm doing about 4 ounces every 15 min. Stomach pain is dull. Just weak and headaches. Thanks
June 22, 201313 yr I just had my surgery today and was done at 1 o'clock... a little slow but I feel great!!
June 22, 201313 yr Author Congrats. Good luck!!! Make sure u drink your fluids when u get home and take milk of magnesium I had to go back to hospital 2 days later because of dehydrated and constipated. Ughhhhh.
June 23, 201313 yr I walked 3 miles today and had some chicken broth and lots of water. I don't want very fast but I'm doing well.
June 23, 201313 yr I tried to show a picture of my little cut marks but I don't know if it worked lol
June 24, 201313 yr Hi! Your already walking 3 miles? My surgery is in two weeks and after reading your post I feel more hopeful that I'll be able to move around
June 24, 201313 yr Yep I walked 3 miles today mind you it was very very slowly LOL I had to sit down a few times and my husband is a great supporter and a helper. I have had some light cramping over the last two days but nothing too terrible. I have not been nauseous at all but I have a pretty tough stomach I don't get nauseous easy. Not sure if having a sensitive or a tough stomach before surgery makes it better or worse.. there was a lady that had her surgery the same day as me but she had a sleeve and she was struggling with nausea bad. I felt so sorry for her but she was up and walking. Message me anytime if u have questions. Where are you having your surgery done?
June 25, 201313 yr I was able to eat Greek yogurt today!! Wooohoooo!! Was so good And I put in another 4 miles or so today. Had some sharp belly pains but I think it was gas , for the most part I feel pretty good. I was a little disappointed when I stepped on the scale and it said I was 3 pounds heavier. talk to the doctor today he said it was normal to gain weight after surgery it was probably just water because I haven't eaten hardly anything. Or I should say I haven't had many calories I haven't really eaten anything at all besides Greek yogurt just today.
June 25, 201313 yr Holy cow!! Took one of the BIGGEST potties of my life today LOL I believe I've lost 5 pounds or so. TOTALLY NOT KIDDING!! I have been very puffy in the tummy area and I thought I was just swollen but now I know it was not ALL from being swollen
June 27, 201313 yr lol it must've been a relief! My surgery is coming up. I'm getting excited and nervous...last few days have heard a mix of so may emotions. I hope this is a positive experience and I'm able to attend to my kids the second week.
