  1. I had the plication march 2012 and I'm in hospital now because of nausea, vomiting blood and abdominal pain. Had a few test done and come to find out my stomach has twisted and there's an obstruction. Not sure why or where we are going from here. They are draining my stomach with a nose drain right now. Since Monday they have drained 1700ml so far. Just took an X-ray waiting to hear back from doctor. Been in hospital sine mon 8:30am about 48 hours. Might have to have surgery.

    10 weeks out vomitting

Please be very very very careful throwing up. I popped a stitch and ended up having an emergency surgery on Wednesday due to gastric obstruction. It was aweful. Chew chew chew and eat slow, stay hydrated.
  6. Yes Dr. Ariel Ortiz @ OCC. I had nausea and vomited thats why the stitch popped out. Be very very very careful not to throw up. Do everything you can not to. Chew chew chew, eat slow, stay hydrated and obviously don't over eat. My problem is certain smells make me gag sometimes.
  7. No they didn't remove any of the stomach. It wasn't dead. I now have a "normal" stomach that needs to heal now. I'm home now.
  8. Basically I popped a top stitch and my stomach kinda of folded over itself making an obstruction. Had surgery Wednesday and they took all the stitches out. I'm getting discharged now came in Monday leaving Friday. My surgeon was Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. My surgeon here called him and he said take the stitches out. Warning: try not to throw up. Be careful. If that means taking an hour to eat slowly do it. Don't get too full. Chew chew chew. When your not eating drink liquids. I'm down 51#s probably more now since I haven't eating since Sunday. Ha.
  9. Going into surgery within hour to see why I'm blocked. Possibly remove the plication, or remove dead stomach if needed.

Walk, walk and walk then when your done walking walk some more.
  11. I haven't had to explain to anyone myself. However I would say I have built my metabolism up by eating very small healthy meals but eating more frequently like every 2-3 hours. Also that I limit fluids while eating as to not get full on liquids.

  13. I only found out two weeks ago. I had my surgery in Mexico @ OCC self pay and my regular insurance is through Kaiser. The only thing I told them was that I had bariatric surgery and they said that the bariatric department will monitor me throughout my pregnancy. I haven't got into the details of what surgery I had just yet. They are supposed to contact me within 2 weeks. I did the regular pregnancy blood tests and the results were all within normal range. So far so good, just wish I could drink more fluids easier.

    Complication!

Thoughts and prayers to you and your wife. Wow this is very scary as I've been having stomach issues since late June but I just found out that I'm 11 weeks pregnant and figured it was that or at least I hope so. Mine is more being nauseated (upset stomach) but no puking. Now I'm worried, I also went to OCC March 14th. I hope your wife is recovering well and your hanging in there. How scary this must be for you guys. Please update us with any details. Many blessings!
  15. Well my operation was 3.14.12 and I'm down 43# here's the kicker Im also 11 weeks pregnant . Be careful ladies I had PCOS and had to be on fertility drugs to conceive my other two children. I had NEVER used birth control since being married in 1998 and not once got pregnant. My medical Dr said that typically around the 40-50# weight lose are when patients that suffer infertility are getting pregnant. Wish I was told before hand so I could have used precautions. However this is a great surprise and I'm very excited, the only thing is that I would have waited to be further out from surgery as I will have a scheduled cesarean. Also I'm due on my birthday which is sweet! P.S. Zero morning sickness, just fatigue so I didn't lose the 3# due to being sick. Also I feel that I can now eat more frequently, same amount just more often. The only hard part is getting fluids. 03.14.12-Surgery 5'11 238# 05.31.12-198# & conceived 08.05.12-195# 02.23.13-Due Date
  16. My surgery day was 3/14/12 and I'm down 40# with zero exercise and my diet is hit & miss depending on the day. I'm happy to be in "one"derland. I know once and when I start working out I will drop a lot faster and be happier with my self/results. Not to say I'm not happy now, I am plenty happy. All is well. No hair loss whatsoever.
  17. Do NOT eat rice, I repeat DO NOT eat RICE, it hurts so bad. I had maybe 3 bites and I'm feeling the grunt of it. It was one of those moments where I wasn’t thinking WLS small stomach before eating and ate it without thought. Now I regret it and will never do that again. This was around 11:30 this morning and I still hurt and won’t eat anything else today due to it. Don’t make my mistake. UGGGHHH!
  18. Great job guys. I'm 2 months 2 days out today and down 37#'s, half way there. Today was the 1st time a random person (that doesn't know I'm dieting) made a comment on my weight loss. Which is cool! I go by the rule as far as drinking nothing 20 minutes before and 1 hour after eating. So far so good my only issues was I ate rice accidentally, just a bite and that was a big NO No and oranges are too harsh for me which is a bummer. Other than that all is good with me. Went to Dr.Ortiz March 14th.
  19. I just had surgery on Wednesday and I'm back home now, however I have a few questions. I'm on the clear liquid diet and wanted to know how much I should be consuming, for instances yesterday on day two I couldn't even finish a caprisun, had ice cubes and had a small popsicle that's it. Today I probably had about 6oz of gatorade and 6oz of broth and some ice cubes and that's all. I can't imagine getting 64oz of Water in. Also does the sipping stop or will that continue to be the case with drinking here on out? Any reply will be helpful thanks!!!
  20. Ok so I was one of those people who only had nausea, stomach gas and pain in the hospital. By day 3 I was able to drink 8oz of broth and a full 32oz Gatorade. I sipped for only 4 maybe 5 days thereafter I was able to take big gulps. I’ve never been one to get full off of 2-3 oz of broth. My nutritionist said I shouldn’t be getting full off of liquids anyways. She told me most people who just had surgery and are getting full off so little is doing so due to the gas/being bloated. So I started March 5th pre-op at 238, DOS on March 14th I was 228, 1 week out on March 21st I was 218, I started creamy soups on the 23rd and went back up to 223 by the 26th. I started eating solids on the 30th (17 days out verses 21) and now as of today I’m back down to losing a # a day and am at 218. I haven’t had any problems with food up until today when I ate a few bites of rice, BIG NONO, I did it without thinking. So in a nut shell I’m down 20# since preop, 10# 20 days post. I have lots of restriction and overall I’m happy thus far. Hope to be under 200 soon.
  21. Well I must be doing something right im down to 222.8 from 238 on March 5th/228 March 14th DOS. I start full liquids tomorrow so I'm happy about that.
  22. Today is the first day they are open since I've been home. Will call soon.
  23. So I am on the morning of day 5 and I'm a little concerned as there hasn't been a day where I have had my broth or a drink where i felt omg I'm so full. I had 2 cup of noodles yesterday (broth only) at 2 different sittings and both times was able to drink the entire thing which was about 8oz with no problems in 10 minutes maybe. I've only been sipping because I'm afraid to go further as i don't want to be in pain. I also finished 3/4 of a 32oz Gatorade yesterday sipping throughout the day. I felt like i could have had more. At times i feel hungry as my stomach is growling and empty, no not the gas feeling actual hunger. On the other hand plain water seem too harsh for me to drink. I don't know what to think, i weighed in yesterday and was 1# lighter from m DOS granted it was only day 4 but i haven't eaten food in forever it seems. I was losing more on the preop shake diet. I hope this expensive tool is going to work and give me restriction, I'm just a little concerned right now but may be jumping the gun? Any suggestions, tips or replys would be helpful.
