Per my program I'm supposed to get 80 a day divided out approx 20 grams 4 times a day. HOWEVER, like you said, some docs push an ultra low carb diet.... HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

  • My doc doesn't put a limit in carbs, just says eat Protein first or eat the carbs with protein (like tuna and crackers). Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

My doc likes me to stay between 80 and 100 grams a day... Protein first ALWAYS, then fit in some carbs with each meal. She said that our brains need carbs to function properly and she wants people to

My doc likes me to stay between 80 and 100 grams a day... Protein first ALWAYS, then fit in some carbs with each meal. She said that our brains need carbs to function properly and she wants people to eat a "real life" diet because there's no way someone will eat 20-30 grams of carbs for the rest of their life. Her big thing is to track every bite that goes in to my mouth, and I do! You'll lose a bit slower than those eating low low carb, but there's no way you won't lose if you're only eating 800-1000 cals a day and exercising even if you're eating 100 grams of carbs! Keep it up girl! You're going to be JUST fine!! <3
