Pain Meds

What type of pain medication were you put on after surgery? How long were you on it after surgery?

I was given Lortab elixir. My surgery was on a Wednesday and I took it until Sunday. I didn't really need it after 5 days and was feeling pretty good about a week post op. My doctor had me fill the script before surgery so I would already have it at home when I came home from the hospital.

When they took me of the morphine pump I was changed to oxycodone. I went home with a script of it to use as needed for 12 days. It is a tiny pill that did not give me any trouble to take.

I was on percacet in hospital as needed. I had surgery the 15th and switched to tylenol the 16th, evening. I have not taken anything since then. My surgeon does not want you going home until pain is under control as you only go home with over the counter tylenol.
