Sorry to hear your friends are not as supportive as one would hope. Remember you are doing this for you and nobody else. YEAH for you for making yourself a priority. I am having my surgery in 4 days. In regards to Vitamins by surgeon recommended the following.

My surgeon gives me the following options for Multivitamin. They are all chewable. He said they need to have 18 mg of Iron and 400 mcg folic acid per pill. No gummies!

  1. Centrum Kids Complete (NOT silver label)
  2. Flinstones complete
  3. Equate (Walmart) Childrens Multi complete.

I also have to take 500 mcg of Vitamin b12 which can be can be pill form of chewable or liquid or dissolved and Calcium caltrate, which is usually pill form but can be dissolved in liquid.

In regards I can look to see the brands however he only has his patients on them for 2 weeks post op. My pre op diet is simply liquid with no Protein shakes for 3 days prior to surgery.

Every surgeon is different and I am sure yours will give you direction in the upcoming days :) GOOD LUCK!

Ignore people who have nothing positive to say. I could never understand how people can say something negative about a person who wants to use WLS as a tool to lose weight and live a healthier life. Do your research, speak with doctors, find support groups with people who can relate and understand your decision on creating a better you.

As far as shakes...I first tried designer whey I did not like it so I tried Isopure creamy vanilla and that was pretty good. If you go to the GNC they have sample packs that you can try...

Good luck on your journey, sad to say but people, friends and relationships all change...some for the better remember when you lose friends you gain friends wishing you the best on taking your life back!

Thanks for taking time to respond. I was giving a list by my nutritionist on the ones she recommended. Trying to figure out which are more tolerable. Good luck your having your surgery on my birthday! I am going for my pre-op appointment/class this week. I probably will receive most of my answer. Once again thanks.
