I started a clinical study at Pennington Biomedical Research 1 1/2 years ago for weight loss. Just after I started the study in January 2012 my husband passed away. The psychologist recommended I delay my surgery in May 2012. Then for the next year I jumped over hurdle after hurdle that came up to delay my surgery. There's too many to list. Then I finally got the phone call a week ago that I can schedule my surgery. My surgery is scheduled for August 27th. I feel like I'm waiting another 1 1/2 years. I work for the state of Louisiana. Blue Cross is working with Pennington to conduct the study. Our Blue Cross plan does not currently cover the surgery, but my surgery will be paid for through the study. Hopefully this study is successful so that BC will cover it in the surgery. Thanks for reading this long intro.

Let me know how you're doing after surgery. Hope it goes well. I'm sure it will.
