Amusement park rides ugh!

Recommended Posts

I just got back from a week in Branson and we had a great time. Took my two oldest granddaughter's with us. During the week of going to shows and sight seeing they, along with my boyfriend decide to go zip lining. I wanted to go but knew the harness thingy wouldn't fit. Then on to the ejection seat, again not even going to try! Was afraid I'd shoot to the moon when they let that thing go... Then the dreaded Silver Dollar City amusement park... I did my usual sitting at the exits waiting on them to get off the rides. The park is up and down hills and I had to take breaks all the time but I made it, whew! I saw many people asked to leave the rides because they didn't fit and that's why I didn't even try to go on rides. They have test seats at the front of the ride and I wonder why ppl didn't try the test seat to see if they fit instead of being humiliated by being asked to leave. But all in all I had an awesome time knowing that next year everyone else will have to work at keeping up with me!!! I'm riding every darn ride in the park and every place else. Can't wait!!!

This is my goal as well. I love rides but unless I am at a Disney park it is a no go. I am excited for the days that I can get in any line and ride any ride.

Yeah Disney has always been good. I'm planning a trip to Disney world next summer- even though I even now could fit in the seats it was always tough. All that walking in the summer heat was so tough! Next summer should be lots better.

I do plan on taking a weekend trip to a six flags since I haven't been able to ride there in years.

Last time I went to dolly world I was told I couldn't ride. I was mortified.

Tammy, I totally know how you feel!!! I went to Carowinds about 4 years ago & couldn't get the lap bar closed on Thunder Road & had to get off. I was sooo embarrassed. Since then I don't even try because I know better! But you're right next year will be different for us! I'm going to be a new me & I plan on riding everything!!! Good luck on your journey!!

I hate the heat, it was 97 and very humid and I had sweat coming out my ears. Lol

Kids kept telling me to get a scooter to ride around on but I'd die first... Up side of it is I lost 5 lbs.. I'm sure partly because I was afraid to eat in that heat and all the walking up and down steep hills, I was afraid the exertion would make me vomit. Boyfriend kept saying " I gotta give you credit for pushing on" lol

I defiantly feel your pain about riding the rides. I took my 2 foster children and my niece and nephew to the county fair a few weeks ago and I felt so out of place. I couldn't ride any of the rides and I couldn't even walk the whole distance. I had to have my Mom bring her scooter and drop it off for me to use. I felt so embarrassed. One of my weight loss goals is to be able to get on the boat. Hopefully I can get approved and have my surgery this year. Maybe with hard work and determination by next fair I will be able to ride it. Just keep the faith. I know I am!!

I know, give up isn't part if my vocabulary any more. I've completed all but two requirements from my insurance company and those two are scheduled for the 18th & 20th. I'm still waiting on the center to call with my first appointment date but I want to be ready when they finally do then maybe I can get in the surgery schedule.

Man. I got lucky. I am 360 lbs and they aren't making me loose any weight. My last app. I told them I was trying to loose weight and they said not to worry about it and that I would loose plenty on the two week liquid diet. Good luck you guys and keep going strong bc we all deserve this!

Aww man you did get lucky. I guess the doctor just wants to see how bad I want the surgery. Well I want it bad. I have been writing down everything I eat so I now a month worth of logs. I also have been writing down a weight loss bucket list. Everything I want to do when I hit my target weight loss goal. I can wait to get started on that list. Lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
