For me, I did feel fuller a little faster but nothing compared to after getting fills. I had to exercise a lot of will power during that time! Remember that the first 6 weeks are for healing so anything you lose then are a bonus. Good luck on your upcoming surgery

Depends on how many fat pads you have around your stomach at banding... I have heard that those with very little fat around their stomach feel more restriction with out fills and never really even NEED fills.. but those that do need fills as they lose it.. does this make sense?

Everyone is so different!

I was banded on Jan. 18th, 2007 and first fill is scheduled on Monday. The first 2-3 weeks were fantastic! After half a cup to a cup of food I would be full for at least 3-4 hours. The last couple of weeks haven't been quite as good! Definitely get hungrier faster but then a granola bar or something little settles it till the next meal where as before I would have eaten half the refrigerator! It's also easier to "overlook" the hunger when your losing weight. Figured mine loss this morning and in 7 weeks of dieting/banding I've lost 22 pounds!! That's a little over 3 pound average a week!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
