I took 2 weeks off from work. I was feeling pretty good at about 10 days post op and went back the day after my two week check up. But I think everyone is different and it also really depends on what you do for work (ie - desk job versus heavy lifting, etc).

Thanks, alc...

I do desk work (HR Generalist). My surgeon's office said 2-3 weeks. I'm really hoping to take only two weeks.

I was able to do it 2 weeks but I think it will really depend on how you're feeling post op. Also I really believe that getting your protein intake up early on helps get your energy levels back up to normal. Find a protein supplement that you like so you are able to get your protein in during those first couple weeks (I really like Unjury).

Thanks! I don't have a surgery date yet. I just called the insurance company today and they told me they just got the papers on Friday. I was told to call back on Wednesday. I'm hoping for a June surgery!

I'm taking the full 6 weeks. However, I could go back now. At about 9 days post op I felt like myself again.

Surgery Date: May 2, 2013 - Amount Lost: 30lbs

I just started my job back in October so I don't have the time to use and since I've not been there for a year yet, I'm not covered under FMLA. :-(
