GOUT

Hello everyone!! I am 6 weeks out from surgery and 37 years old and as of yesterday I was diagnosed with gout in my big toe. Completely derailed my walking and exercise at this point as I can barely walk and can't put on a shoe. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any home remedies. It was very hard for them to deal with it because my body won't absorb normal medications. They gave me a dose of something that is supposed to take anywhere from 2 days to a week. It feels better today but so swollen I can't bend it at all.
