Stopped losing weight

Hi everyone, another question: I'm 3 weeks out and since leaving the hospital I was consistently losing 1lb per day, but 5 days ago I actually went up 1lb and haven't lost anything since! Feeling a little discouraged : ( anyone else experience anything like this?

Wow' date=' so glad I found this post. I'm five weeks post op and haven't loss any weight the last two weeks. I actually gained two pounds. My doctor did take me off a diaretic[/quote']

I went through it as well...now I am losing about 2 to 4 lbs per week..I'm 4 months post op I have lost 59lbs. Total. ..half way there...protein protein protein! Oh and also vitamin D helps during the weight loss. ..so take your vitamins daily ;)

My surgery was 6 weeks ago. I lost 18 the first two weeks. Then about 2 in 4 weeks. Ive been going up and down those 2 lbs that whole 4 week time span. I pretty much feel like I'm never going to lose. How is it possible to have this surgery and not lose. The last thing I want is to have this fail on me <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Hey Khaw, has your stall gone away? I'm 5 weeks and have lost 14.5 pounds. It seems really slow since I hadn't surgery April 15th. Just wondering if you're seeing the scale move yet. I need encouragement.

I didn't lose a single pound for one full month after surgery' date=' then it started dropping off consistently. I am 7 months post op and have lost 117.8 lbs.[/quote']

Nurse Jen that's encouraging! I don't want to feel like I've gone through this and it's not going to work! Hope I'm were you are at 7 months!

Yes the stalling is very common I think.Im almost 3 weeks out and Ive only lost 20 something..But this week I gained 3 lbs..Im so UPSET about those 3 lbs...It hurted SO BAD to see that scale had moved up instead of down.

This will happen don't let it get you down. In 7 months I have seen that scale go up a pound even three and then two weeks later I will be down and never go back....our body does a lot of maintaining. Water fluctuates etc, keep your head up :)

Sorry I'm just now seeing your post! Yes! I started losing some! It looks like I'm going to lose about 2-3 lbs every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. I'm hoping once I start lifting weights it will start to come off more! There is no way we can possibly not lose weight! I've started watching my salt intake closely and upped the Protein. We can't stress about it or else our body won't let the weight go. The loss will come just keep with it! I had surgery March 26. I started at 244 and today I weighed 216.

I'm so glad you posted this! I really needed to hear that! Congrats! I'm hoping I will start to see more of a loss as well!

I am almost 5 months post op an I'm down 79lbs... I had a stall for a while also..Doc says you gotta shock your system by switching up eating habits. Like if your on solids drink a protine shake all day for a couple days then go back to solid.. It worked for me..

Wow! 79 lbs! I'm jealous! That's a great idea! Ill have to remember that!

I think I may have the record for slowest weight loss of all time. My surgery date was 3/25/13. Since then I have lost 12 lbs. before surgery I lost 39 lbs, 9 of those on the 2 week pre-surgery diet. Have spoken with Bariatric program mgr, nutritionist, surgeon's head RN and followed up with his PA. They all say it is a combination of my age, 57, and being post-menopausal. Has any one else stalled like this right out of the gate and does any one have any suggestions on how to ramp things up?
