Bloody stools

I had surgery Tuesday the 16th. Today I has my first bowel movement and it was loose, which didnt surprise me. But it was bright red with blood. Has anyone else experienced this? The resident came in and said maybe its just the staple lines bleeding, but I'm waiting for my surgeon to come in now. Anyone have any thoughts??? I'm getting nervous.

It's possible it's just some residue blood from the cutting. Let us know what the surgeon says!

Thank you! That's what I think too. I will keep you all posted.

My surgeon just came in and said it is perfectly normal. He said the blood will get darker in color and then just go away. Apparently, the blood was from all of the resectioning that was done. It has to make it's way out somehow. Other than that, I've done awesome and am now waiting to be dismissed!!!
