Hope everyone is doing well post surgery I have a question though how does everyone feel. I'm drinking various fluids no problems soups etc all good. Gas is slowly coming out and is still painful. Getting up and down is hard but my stomach feels like I have done 1000000 sit ups and have a stitch from running is this normal?

My biggest issue now is not being able to get up and down easily. I still require someone to help pull me up. I have one incision that was sutured to a fat fold that is killing me. Drain hole has all but stopped leaking. I am having issues with anything going down, everything just tastes strange. I am trying a different protein shake today to try to get close to the protein counts. Regarding gas, it is still in there and the more I walk the better I feel, but I tire out real easy. I am just 1 day home from hospital, take care and keep sipping and walking!

Yes the up and down is hard and don't even try to get in a car lol my trip home from hospital was a nightmare x I am carrying a huge pillow around just to help prop my back up lol didn't have a drain so no issue there I have been quite surprised at how mild the pain is what about you? Glad u are home makes ya feel better x

Ha, yes that ride was I am sure funny for others to watch. The poor guy that escorted me out was very nice but it took me three attempts to get into the car, finally my husband put the top down and I was able to get in and slide down the back of the seat. I am good walking, standing and even laying down, just getting up and down is torture. Yesterday was better, hope today is even better. Today I am tooting along as my dad would say, relieving the gas pains.

I tried a little pudding yesterday with protein powder, very heavy. So I tried applesauce, was able to stomach about 1 tablespoon. Just not hungry. It is a chore to make myself think about eating. How about you, what are you trying to eat? Anything more successful?

I'm joining u in the tooting we could have our own wind section in here lol I've managed some soup and some baby food also some egg white mashed up in some milk x yep I not even hungry and its a nightmare trying to force something in but it helps force the air out as well. Let me know how ur day goes :)

Has anyone else within the first 2 weeks of post op had a hard time eating jello? Out of everything within my liquid diet I can barely eat jello even when I chew it well I'm instantly full after 3 bites.

I tried jello at the hospital, did not sit well. I just tried some applesauce. Was only able to get down 1 tablespoon.

Good luck today. I will be thinking of you! Keep us updated. It's your day!

Thank you. Sorry i was quiet everything went excellent! I got home on wednesday. Still a little bit sore on my stomach but nothing that i cant handle. How is everybody else doing? Im a little bit emotional at times and i wanted food so badly last night but ya, no solids for the next 12 weeks..

Hi. Had my surgery on Tuesday' date=' got home last night about 6. I actually gained 13 pounds while there! Gas I assume. I does help to walk but you get tired easily so don't walk too far. They pulled the drain tube before I left. The pain on that side is the worst. It just me 30 mi to walk from my chair in the living around the corner to the toilet and back. Most of the tie is trying to get up and down again. Not at all hungry. Ate two bites of SF pudding, and was full. Almost 1/3 down with water. Wish I could just chug that thing! Does anyone one incision that hurts worse than the others? Procedure done lapriscoply.[/quote']

My surgery was Thursday and I also gained 13lbs from surgery. I expected it but I don't have to like it. Lol. I tried to eat a half container of yogurt with protein powder but a few bites was all I managed. I am really liking chicken broth, though. My incisions don't hurt but I have a heavy achey feeling just beneath my breasts. It only bothers me when I walk. And I'm pretty tired, I need a nap! :-)

Rest, rest, rest! You just had your insides rearranged! Just remember to work on fluids at first, protein will come in a few days. Glad you are on the other side now! Speedy recovery to you.

Thank you! I took a nap this afternoon and did some reading in the sunshine on my deck a couple times. I'm keeping a food and drink log and I have to say it's not looking good. I think it was a little too ambitious for my first days home. I'm going to scrap it for a few days and concentrate on getting fluids and rest. :-)

How is your back Dorian? Any improvement yet?

Not really. :( am not hopeful that the procedure worked. Takes awhile for the nerves to die though. Won't take care of the leg pain anyway, so I'm stuck. Glad you enjoyed the sun for awhile. Good for the soul!

My stpmach is making growling noises after the opp. Does anyone else experience the same thing?
