Hello I am new here

Hi everyone

Didn't know where or if I should introduce myself, so I thought I might as well do it in the lounge. My name is Sigurveig (Veiga), I have decided to do the rny gastric bypass and I have a doctors appointment next monday to applicate for that. I live in Iceland (the country not the shop) hehe and here the goverment pays for the surgery, so financing is no issue for me.

I am 33yrs old mother of two children, my spouse and kids are all skinny with out effort. So I stick out like a sore thumb in family photos, and just in general when with them out'n'bout. I am 5ft 1in and 270pounds with a bmi of 51. I don't have any obesity problems like sleep apnea or high bloodpressure but I am in physical pain and I can just feel my body getting crushed little by little under all this weight and I just have to do something. Diets work but the amount of pounds to loose is so overwhelming and I give up 1/3 of the way to goal.

So now I get to wait untill it is my turn to go thrue the program for the surgery, hope it will not be a long wait.

Anyway this is me, nice to meet you all.

Welcome. I hope your time flies by :)

Welcome to the forum Sigurveig!

I live in Norway and I have not seen any other scandinavian here but us!

I had my gastric bypass 8/10-12 at a private hospital in Oslo.

I have lost ca 30 kg and would like to loose 10-15 kg more.

Best thing I ever did,I am happier and do not feel like my body is giving up anymore.

High bloodpreassure, back ond knee pain gone,no more astma and acid reflux!

I live with my fiance and our to girls, age 10 and 12.Hope you can get your surgery soon, your life really change for the better!

Big hug and god påske!

Hæ Solveig, takk. Thank you for you kind words, I just had my doctors appoinment today. So I am officially on the waiting list but I don't have a surgery date yet, but I have taken my first step towards it. Btw I have alot of relatives in Norway, my big sister lives in Ågskardet not so far from Bodø.

I'm brand new here, too. I'm waiting for a surgery date also. I'm excited & terrified at the same time! Lots of emotions :) Good luck! Michelle

Good luck to you too. It took me 10 years to take this step so all I am left with is exitement. But still a lot of emotions. One is a litle bit of anxiety to get to know a new face and body, to redefine myself. I untill now have never known anything but fat me. Can not wait to see how I really look like under all of this fat.
