My doctor requires me to have a upper GI. What are they looking for? It worries me because in the last couple of months I have started getting heart burn. Will this keep me from getting the band?

I have a UGI scheduled for next week (March 20) to rule our a hiatal hernia. Last UGI I had was in 1989! I almost never get heartburn, but a big ol' greasy or something spicy sometimes will get me. I also get some stomach upset during allergy season.

The doc does not suspect the hernia, but wants to rule it out. If I do have a hiatal hernia, he'll just fix it while he's in there.

No worries here -- except for drinking the barium (uck!)

Tomorrow I have a doctor's apointment at 3:15 since I work during the day so i have to fast for my pre-op blood work till then. They said I and eat up untill 7am. 7am lol I wake up then. I wont ever get up early just to eat. So, it will be my fault if I suffer though lol
