More Blood Work?

So my dr office called yesterday morning and said that I need to have more blood work done. A complete metabolic work up the nurse said. I had all my tests done on the 24th. My pre-op appt is Monday. They wanted me to have it done Friday but I had Breakfast before she called so now I have to go in first thing money morning.

I am now starting to worry...... Has anyone else had to do this? Am I just getting worked up for nothing? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I had bloodwork a few days before my pre-op as well. Sometimes insurance requires it I think. Sometimes they just want to make sure you're levels are ok and if not they'll have you start your vitamins before surgery. That's what happened for me...build up the vitamins before the surgery because after surgery for me anyway, I was told no vitamins until my first post op visit and nutrition visit.

I, too, had to have a full blood panel prior to surgery. Also the lab mishandled some of my blood, so I had to go back! With surgery pending, they will likely be swift getting your pcp the results. Good luck!!

I am hoping that it is just because maybe the lab messed up ;)). It can't be for insurance since I am self paying, I was tiered of jumping thru the ins hoops for three years.
