Just Fyi

Hello everyone,

I have been reading up on post for the last few months and I just don't understand why we are all told different things at the hospital.

See I was told that after 5 days start purée food and after that if you could take in regular food well chewed then to go for it. I'm lucky that I have not had any problem with food and all is going down well and loosing weight at the same time. My Dr told me not to baby my stomac they said to try different things but not over do it.

I keep reading stuff that people are still on liquid after 1 month. That is the worse thing you could do to your stomac if you do that.

I wish everyone best of luck. I know I'm doing well and eating what I want just very small portions

Well I was on Liquid for 3 weeks then went to soft & solid the next week. I was only following orders.

It's crazy how every program is different! I didn't have to do a liquid diet before surgery, but I have to do 3 week liquids post op, 1 week puréed, 1 week soft, and then I can start my regular diet. It sucks because I want to move on to something else but it's always best to just do what your surgeon says!
