I am station in Alaska and my mom (lives in FL) and her doctors just told her that she has stage 4 Colon cancer. I want to move home to be with her but she wants me to wait until after my surgery. My surgery is scheduled for 7/20th. I don't know what to do?? Help

I know you have to do what is in your heart but..... with you rushing to your Mom's side right now and delaying your surgery will only cause more stress on everyone. In my opinion and this is only my opionion..... I would talk daily with Mom on the phone and stay close, have your surgery and when the docotor clears you for travel then go and see her. It is a very difficult time for you.. I know what you are going thru, I lost both of my parents to cancer and it is so difficult. You have to keep yourself well so you can be 110% support for them. My prayers are with you and your Mom.
