Hey all! My name is Dawn and I am five years post op. I had an open Roux en y.
I met my goal weight just recently after having my second post op baby. I am having some issues now and I wondering if there is anyone who is post OP who I having issues with hypokalemia (low potassium) and anemia. I have been hospitalized five times since March for the hypokalemia since my potassium drops a soon as the iv is taken out of me. No joke I have had over 70 bags of the potassium run through me. My veins are shot. Anyways I haven't met anyone who has had anything similar to me, or who has even heard of this frequency! I take supplements of course but I just don't absorb them. And I cannot eat bananas or drink orange juice even I I cut it with water so please no suggestions on that it's frustrating enough trying to find the right foods to eat to get he right amount of potassium and iron in a day. If anyone has any advice, suggestions or is going through the same thing then I'd really love to hear from you. Sorry this is so long! Dawn
