Taking Off Work.

Hello I'm going to set my date with the surgeon in a couple weeks. How long do people normally need to take off work? And I'm at a sit down job. And I'm having the gastric sleeve.

I know two people who have had the sleeve and their recovery time was longer than the r-n-y. Both needed 4 weeks. Not sure how age affects the recovery time, both were over 55. I'm sure everyone is different. Good luck.

My experience: I had a pre-op on Tuesday. Laparoscopic RNY Wednesday. Discharged Friday. Went to (office) work Saturday (nice and quiet on a weekend), but got me tired after a couple of hours. Will work Monday a few hours. Have a follow up appt to remove the staples on Tuesday.

Therefore, 5-6 days... Hope this helps.

BTW. I feel great!
