I've never heard of anyone having a bypass for that reason. That sounds really scary. I had my surgery 4 weeks ago. They surgery itself wasn't bad but I'm dealing with some other complications now....what is it that you would specifically like to know about the surgery?

I think I might get a second opinion. As for me, my surgery date is May 1. It's been a 9 month process to do all of the required tests. I wish you well.

Well hello my name is Pam and in the state I live in which is ct the process took me 6 months of different test support groups. I have my procedure April 26 6am which is 7 days away

I started the process in November and had my surgery April 12. It was a very thorough process...meeting wirh a psychologist, nutritionist, gastric bypass classes, etc. Good luck.

I had to have full lab work...ekg...stress test..sleep apnea test...psych eval...nutritionist visit......mandatory support groups...and lose 10% of my weight

That is exactly all the things I had to do and now I am ready my GBS is Thursday April 26 at 6am. Tomorrow I start my 5 day protein diet and I am excited

I started my process in September and had my bypass in January so about 5 months!
