surgeon leaving his practice

I have been following with my bariatric surgeon since May and am scheduled to have surgery in December. I found out today that he is moving his practice to a hospital that doesn't accept my insurance. I emailed the coordinator to find out where that leaves me in all that mess but waiting to hear back sucks. :( has this ever happened to anyone? What was your outcome?

My surgeon left. I was able to follow him to his new practice. From an insurance perspective it shouldn't impact you to switch surgeons, should you find another facility in network. Hope it works out for you---I know it's frustrating and scary!

Thank you. My hospital and the one my surgeon is going to are rivals so if I go I have to pay crazy amounts of money like 3 grand deductible and 50 percent co insurance. There is another one is my network but it's 2 hrs away I may end up going there. Funny how when they were scheduling me for all these appointments that cost me I heard back from them very quickly and now all I hear it's crickets. I'm giving them until tomorrow to email me back before I start calling :(
