uh oh soup problem

so my friend and i went to panera bread tonight and i got a cup of cheddar broccoli soup, not even thinking twice that even though it's a cream based soup it's CHEESE. i brought it home and strained it and ate about 1/4 of a cup. so far i haven't had any issues, it went down and didn't come back up. but i don't think cheese is approved on my phase 2 diet. does anyone know why i would be allowed milk and creamy soups but not cheese? is there a big difference?

I'm fine, it's been a few hours and nothing happened. But I am curious as to why creamy soups and milk is allowed and not cheese? Is there a difference between cheese getting digested from milk or creamy soups? Just wondering if anyone knows! Thanks!

I ate it all the time! It was about he only soup that agreed with me, except for chicken noodle, and I didn't want to get all those noodle carbs!!!

Every doctor is different. I was not allowed STRING cheese because the stringiness could have gotten stuck in the way down, but I was allowed soft cheese cubes on my soft stage. I was allowed cream cheese on my pureed stage along with ricotta and cottage. I'm betting your doctor doesn't want people eating fried cheese sticks, hard cheddar, and various other tougher to manage cheeses so he/she put a blanket nix on all.

I was allowed. Each dr. Different

thanks everyone! this site is so helpful! :)

My phase 2 specifically says cottage and string cheese. My understanding is portion and fat content. In phase 3 or 4 it says cheese with less than 5g fat per serving.
