Liver Shrinking Diet

Hi all!!

I was just wondering - I am on a 2 wk low carb diet but I notice every dr is different. How come some have to do up to 3 months, others do 3 days? Does anyone know what is the reasoning behind these time frames?

I had no preop diet- my surgeon said he doesn't believe it makes enough of a difference (it's not worth the trouble) and he's been doing wls since the early '80s. It's just each surgeon's beliefs / opinions.

My doctor does the length based on BMI and health history. For instance I was only 2 weeks because I had no health issues, but someone with a BMI of 50 something might have 4 weeks.

The higher your BMI, the more risk for complications is what I was told.
