So I'm a hairdresser and am wondering how soon will I be able to go back to work? I am going to be scheduled for surgery either the second or third week of December. I know it varies on each person, but if any of you are hairdresser's how soon did you get back to work?

I'm not a hairdresser...just the opposite, I sit for most of the day! I took a week off, but ended up taking 2 weeks. I didn't feel 100% and I didn't want to push it. Your health is wayyy more important than anything. I am 20 days post op and I'm still not 100%. But I feel tons better. Like you said everyone is different. I think age, job and ones ability to heal will determine when you go back to work. Good luck with your surgery!

I originally thought I needed 1 week- but it was not going to happen!!! I ended up taking two weeks and when I went back to work last week i felt very tired and fatigued...feeling better now- make sure you don't rush your recovery; there's no medal given to those that go back to work right away! Give yourself enough time to recover; you'll be in pain; swollen; tired etc. don't rush it
