last appointment! now what?

I just finished my last appointment for the sleeve. My doctors office keeps Me in the dark regarding the progress and process of this journey. I have to call them and ask if I have to do anything else. Do I have to ask my Pcp for the clearance letter or do they do that on their own? When will they submit my papers? I'm trying hard not to be a jerk to them but they really don't answer my questions ..or the phone! How long after your last appointment was your papers submitted?

  • You have to let them know that your interested in every aspect of the surgery process. No, you will not come off sounding like a jerk just by asking questions about the process of handling your health

No, you will not come off sounding like a jerk just by asking questions about the process of handling your health, your supposed to ask questions, lots of questions. The bariatric center where I go gave me a very informative binder with a checklist in it. Maybe you should write down all the questions that you have and if they don't answer the phone then make a trip to their office. Congratulations in being even closer to having this procedure done!

Thank you! you're totally right

After I got clearance from the lung specialist, they submitted it right away. I got approval in less than a week of submission. My clinic too gave me a manual that listed every step in the pre op & post op process. And they advised my to call if I still had questions or just needed to talk. You should be able to ask as many questions as you need.

Good luck to you!!!!
