  1. i used prune juice and even ate some prunes as a back up. that was a big mistake BUT it worked..worked too well T_T
  2. i'm in the same boat..i havent lost a pound since friday but on the good side i can get all my fluids in. at first I couldnt get down water but I found i could get a lot of tea down. best of luck!
  3. I was sleeved the same day, I had the similar kind of pain. I then bought a waist support belt, it has been all the difference. I barely have any pain now
  4. I was sleeved on 01/13/14 in brooklyn. I have had the easiest time adjusting to my sleeve that it scares me a little. no gas pains, I can get a lot of Water in and my incisions barely hurt. anyone else had a smooth transition into their sleeve?
  5. i was sleeved on the 13th, Lucky for me, there wasn't much pain.. my only issue is that when I stand up, it feels like my insides are about to fall out. does anyone have any tips for this? I hold my stomach but that's the only thing i can do at this moment. also, when were you able to sleep pn your side? thanks everyone!
  6. i feel oddly calm, I don't think i'll feel its real until they wheel me off. it took 11 months of hard work and staying on top of things. I hope to see you all on the other side. trust your journey =]
  7. thanks everyone, my surgeon told me i wont have one..we'll see about that tomorrow lol
  8. that's crazy! happy it ended well =]
  9. that sounds like a great idea! thank you~
  10. My insurance messed up my birthday. My birthday is january 24th and they put january 29th..I tried to fix it for months and each time they assured me it was taken care of. Now, 3 days before I get sleeved, I got a call from the hospital to inform me that there is an issue with my DOB. They went on to tell me that this might postpone my surgery. so now i'm freaking out because it's friday and my surgery is on monday, there is no way I can correct this in time.
  11. Well I'm sure that everyone could answer these questions differently but here's my take: 1. There wasn't really pain when I very first woke up but over the next couple hours just general soreness. I only asked for pain medicine twice while in the hospital for 30 hours. 2. Nope, nakey, nakey. 3. They will help you get there. Using it wasn't as hard as I expected, just lower and raise slowly. 4. Use yours ARMS!! And support your abs with a pillow. And use you back muscles more, but they get sore so I like my heating pad. And don't BEND OVER to pick things up unless you have to. If so go very slowly. Yours may be totally different but that's mine. HW 320 SW 313 CW 291 22 pounds in 22 days!! thank you so much! that was extremely helpful =D
  12. I'm going to be sleeved on the 13th of this month and I have a few random questions.. 1. what exactly does the pain feel like right after surgery? 2. do they let you wear underwear during surgery? 3. were you able to use the restroom by yourself? 4. is there a trick to making it less painful when getting up or sitting?
  13. i started a youtube channel a few weeks ago. vsg elliott http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-Vzh0G5NqNuhdFadJYeN0Q maybe you should start making videos too! it'll be fun to look back on =]
  14. first week of my 3 week diet, I lost 5 lbs then the second week I gained it back. this is my last week and i'm not sure if i want to get on the scale lol best of luck to everyone!
  15. congrats on your weight loss!
  16. ah, your nut seems more helpful than mine. that was some great advice. I can only stomach small portions of boneless chicken but i feel like crap after eating it. i'm also not friends with dairy but almond milk has been a big help. I wish you nothing but success on your journey =]
  17. i guess we have to stick it out lol
  18. I had been a vegetarian for 3 years, then I stopped for 3 years..now I feel like it's time to return to a vegetarian diet. however, my nutritionist strongly advised me not to go vegetarian until the summer. she said i need to get in a lot of protein once i'm sleeved and it'd be harder as a vegetarian. I'm at the point where just looking at meat makes me want to throw up. I'll grill some chicken and stare at it wondering how the hell am i going to eat this. anyone else have this problem?
  19. I'm scheduled for the 13th and it really hit me today that in 10 days I will go under the knife for the first time in my life. it's scary but it's needed in order for me to keep the weight off. I was always able to lose weight but never able to keep it off. now my health is in decline and there is no better choice for me at this time. it's scary but we can do it =]
  20. congrats on losing so much weight! have you had any issues with loose skin? Haven't really had too much loose skin, at least not as much as I though I would. My skin is a little looser on my belly than I would like it to be, but let's just say I would much rather take my shirt off in front of people now, than I would have before surgery. that's great to hear! I saw your before and after, you look great =]
  21. congrats on losing so much weight! have you had any issues with loose skin?
  22. thanks! the only reason why I considered 180 is because thats the weight I saw on this chart thingy. I have no idea what that looks like lol. I was thinking somewhere in the lower 200s would be good.
