  1. I get sleeved in 15 days and i'm curious as to what 100lbs lost looks like on someone around my height (6'4). please share pics or videos~ my goal weight is 180 but i'm not sure if that is too thin. thanks guys
  2. Thanx ... ) no its time to get nervous lol lol i was the same way!
  3. My pre op diet is for 3 weeks. I'm sure you'll be fine,I've heard about people gaining weight while at the hospital and then drop it all off soon after =]
  4. they say it takes 2-3weeks.. but it usually is within a week. I rarely hear of someone waiting over a week. =]
  5. usually about a week. I have health plus through medicaid and they submitted my papers on a tuesday and I found out i was approved on the following monday. good luck! =]
  6. I expected to feel like I was starving but after drinking the Protein shakes, I really didn't want to eat..even when I was offered delicious food. Nobody can throw down on some boneless chicken breasts like me but when I tried to eat it, I felt nauseous like someone offered me a dead mouse. I find this strange but who knows, maybe I can manage to get through the next 3 weeks without cheating. anyone else felt like this? also, how was the first day of your diet?
  7. When I told some close family and friends about my decision to get sleeved. I don't think they took me seriously or rather, they thought I wouldn't get approved. Now that i'm approved and my surgery is 3 weeks away. I see the tension in them. My mother is scared because it's surgery, my sister doesn't think I should do it and my best friend thinks I should try working out and dieting again. despite their opinions, they don't come down hard on me and they try to respect my decision but at the same time, they aren't being very supportive. I know it sounds like a contradiction but they don't attack my decision, they just don't want to hear about or talk about it. When I talk about it, I can see how uncomfortable they are and it makes feel bad. either way i'm getting sleeved. they're going to have to deal with it lol
  8. lol I've been watching you videos for a whiile. I'm happy you came back =]
  9. I love watching everyones vsg journeys on youtube. if you have a channel, please post a link here. I think it's great to share our experiences like this =]
  10. I found out last minute that I have to start my 3 week diet on monday. I don't even know what foods i'll miss at this point but I do know I want to have a food funeral before monday! XD
  11. lol you're absolutely right. I could be worse, I could have been denied. =]
  12. I had it set in my mind that I would do a two week diet but my doctor's office called and told me it would be a 3 week diet. I think i'm going to die, ok..i'm being dramatic but I have never heard of a 3 week pre op diet. Have any of you done or heard of that?
  13. Seasons greetings~ I start my two week liquid diet on the 31st of this month. I wanted to know if anybody has some suggestions on what products are good during this time. I'm going to check in with my Doctor next week to discuss what I should have during that time. I know the basics of Jello, Protein shakes, broth and popsicles but i'm wondering if there is anything else that i'm missing. =]
  14. January 13th~ it can't come soon enough =D
  15. congrats everyone! My sleeve date is on January 13th~ so excited
  16. thanks! If I indeed do need one, I'd prefer to be out like a light. lol
  17. I'm getting sleeved on the 13th of January. My only fear is silly. I don't mind needles and things like that. However, I really don't want to have a catheter put in. I had read through some posts and it seems pretty common. what was your experience?
  18. Hey everyone~ I was approved today! I'm scheduled for Jan 13th in brooklyn =]
  19. I was approved today for the sleeve! It doesn't feel real yet. I have been working toward this since April and it was hard, there were points when I just wanted to give and just eat myself to death. Luckily there are places like this to gather strength and perspective. January 13th can't come quick enough~
  20. My school is pure evil lol. they literally told us if we get hit by a car and end up in the hospital that still wont excuse an absence. I don't start class until the January 9th but I will look into what I can do. =]
  21. Thank you everyone! My school is extremely strict and this is a 6 week class. I think you're all right, I need to speak to my doctor to figure out what I can do. =]
