Taking time off

Hi everyone,

Just curious, for those of you who work, did u request vacation time off or sick leave? Im planning to take a week off (my work is not physical) and would like to take it as sick but at my job, anything beyond two days requires a Dr's note. Did ur Mexican surgeon provide one? Im not telling anyone at work about my surgery so I would need a very discrete Drs note. Thanks!

I am going to request 2 weeks vacation. My job requires you to fill out an FMLA packet if you take 2 or more sick days. Which i wouldn't mind, buy the girls in the front office will surely tell all your business. I work fir the courts and you would think people know how to keep things private right, NOT. Good luck

Linda I know exactly what you mean! Tell just one person at work, and guaranteed everyone else will find out. Im using Dr Garcia and alma instructed me to outline what I wanted the note to say and that she would get the Dr to sign. So now I have to figure out how to say enough to justify my medical leave but not too much.lol

You can tell them that your getting your gall bladder removed or you have a stomach virus. I'm a supervisor so I've heard it all.

Under the Hippa law you don't have to tell them what you are having done. All they need to know is you are having a medical procedure and need tie off for it.
