I got a call from the insurance coordinator @ the hospital. However I have been in pre- authorization "mode" since June 27! My insurance simple took their good old time. I had to take it a step further and not acted our Medical Benefits Administrator to aid in putting some pressure on the insurance ,.. Just GIVE ME AN ANSWER!!! How long does it take to look at a record?? Geshhh. Good luck !!!

The insurance company notified the insurance coordinator at my surgeon's office. The coordinator then contacted me. Within three weeks, I was sleeved. Good luck with the insurance company.

Thank you! I have a lot of anxiety. ...

I actually found out when I got a call from a case manager at Aetna. Apparently the file was sent to her straight from the medical directors rather than to another department first. So I found out before my surgeon's office did. Of course, I had no doubt that I would be approved. I used to work as a medical review nurse & understand medical necessity criteria & how to apply it. And I knew they had 14 days to notify me of the decision from the time the request was submitted. I think I got the call only 4-5 days after submission.

I called my insurance company directly. I still had a hard time believing until I got my preauthorization letter from the company.
