Heartburn

I had a hiatal hernia repair with my sleeve. About 9 days post op... Awful heartburn! I am on Pepcid twice a day but no other meds as I am allergic to

Nexium, omeprazole extc... Anyone else experience heartburn after sleeve and is it safe to suck/chew on some tums? I'm on purée stage. I can't imagine it wouldn't be but just seein If anyone else used them. Thanks :-)
