Hello fellow Sleevers, has anyone ever needed regular check up and how many after you get your sleeve done? and has anyone ever had any complications with their surgery?

Yes, people have complications, just search, you will find them. This is a major surgery, and while the most common complication is a leak, you can and some have died from the surgery. I don't mean to sound harsh, but you should really talk to your surgeon about complications. Most everyone has different types of follow ups. I was a Mexico sleever, so while I don't have a surgeon or local support group, I still see my PCP evey 4 months or so and get my blood checked to be sure I am not vitamin deficient, etc. Every surgeon is different, some will have mandatory appointments and follow ups and support groups, some will not.

Here is the complications forum. It gives you a good perspective of all things bad and no good. It is a real risk, but it is so important to be well educated and informed. As far as check ups, I would guess it is dependent on your surgeon, and what they do. My surgeon has regular check ups. I know for sure 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 2 months. I am fairly certain there is a 4 month and 6 month too, at least with the nutritionist. This forum can be an incredible tool to learn about what can be an incredible tool in your weight loss journey. Some journeys are short, others long. I will have been on an 8 month journey when I have my surgery on the 27th. I have read many books, participated in many forums and posts. I have gone to monthly support groups and kept in regular contact with my primary physician and patient navigator. With all the hours I have put into it, I know that I am only in the first chapter of knowing everything there is to know about the sleeve.

I go once a month for weigh ins and i had a blood clot after surgery excuse the line i cant get rid of it.
