  • Started with a 35 BMI, was told to lose no weight before surgery on 5/17 - down 56 pounds and 4 dress sizes.

  • Btw I have many illnesses because of obesity. I'm 4'11" and weighed 200. I'm 62. Wanted the last 20 or so years to be healthier and happier.

Hey guys just wanted to update you...I am 17 days Post Op and feeling pretty good. I've lost 22lbs since I got home from the hospital 11/04 and I'm doing ok with my Protein & liquids. I did vomit today after I ate lunch which wS weird because I've been fine since the day after I got home...not sure what caused the upset but dinner stayed down. I am able to go on real food by Thanksgiving but honestly I'm not rushing it. I do not enjoy eating at all anymore, I guess that's a good thing. I think I miss ginger ale and crunchy stuff like tortilla chips the most. My taste buds have completely took a turn. Oh and I have to put a top on my cup to drink protein, the smell disgusts me like I'm pregnant.

I look forward to the weeks ahead as my weight is coming off so well. Excited about when I can start working out. Most of all you can already see a change in my body...I love my sleeve. No regrets!!!

Actually at 5'5" you can weigh 210.5 and have a BMI right at 35.

Checking in!!!!!

My surgery was 10/30 and I am down 27lbs since I left the hospital. But I lost that right away. I went 2 weeks with not a pound of loss...freaked me out. I just started losing again two days ago...But I know I am smaller, my pj's that I wore home now fall down around my ankles ...Lol! I tried on 2 pair of jeans that are 12's and they fit me...tight but they fit. That's 3 sizes down from a 18...My BMI was 35.7 so I was told I would probably lose slow..my knees are already starting to feel better and I'm just so excited. I love my sleeve..it's noisy and sometimes it's not very cooperative but I love it!!

Good luck to you!!!

I love hearing all your stories. I'm just starting this process. I scheduled for my educational meeting this week. I've been really concerned about not being approved because my bmi is 36.2 with sleep apnea, acid reflux and long history of back issues. I'm happy so many of you have been approved and happy with you decision.

Update!!!

Today I got on the scale and to my surprise I'm 195.6 I'm actually in the 100 club now. Yippeeeee!!!! Just wanna encourage those reading to stay focused and know that it's so worth it. I'm so happy and loving how I look in my clothes. But more than anything no Med's, no high blood pressure, sleeping better and more energy. That's 47 lbs I've lost since Nov and I'm ecstatic!!! Good luck everyone!!!
