July 2013 Sleevers

Any other newbies on this journey out there?? Had my sleeve on Tuesday, 7/16; so I'm 9 days out. Day 3 has been the worst so far. Think I possibly have temporary (I hope) lactose-intolerance as I'm struggling with some bowel issues; but beyond that, I feel very good. Not being hungry all the time is wonderful. Still hard to get in the habit of not drinking for 30 min. before; during; and 30 min. after eating. How is everyone else making out?

Thanks M&M for the tip on the tape. I am a month out today and I still have the tape stuff on my leg where they taped my cath tube. I will try eye makeup remover tonight.

The best item that I was able to add was fat free cheese. It makes everything taste so much better.

I am struggling with the liquids. I was never a drinker of anything so I am not even getting to 48 ounces. I am barely getting to 20. I use the Isopure and that 20oz gives me 40g or protein and that is all I am getting in everyday. I feel fine. I am having bowel movements so I am not too worried yet.

I had my surgery on 7/16. I'm hungry! I just want a little treat. It's a little hard watching my family eat all the foods I love. I've got to find a way to keep my mind off eating.

I have had a little temptation, but having been to therapy for the last 3 months and starting again this week I can say that the one thing that has helped when I am around people eating food is to close your eyes and take a deep breath and remember this too shall pass and soon you will be eating "anything you want" - or I turn my sound machine on that I got from Amazon and listen to the rain and take myself somewhere else for the time being - this might sound corny to some of you but just thought I would post...god bless!

I can't wait to get off of clear. I have my cream soups lined up and need to get my yogurts ready lol.

Hey just wanted to post if you haven't bought it already get yourself some Unjury Unflavored protein - it is amazing and has been my saving grace! I have put it in my creme soups and my sugarfree fat free jello snacks - I have a scale and the scoop weighs 10 grams empty, so if you divide the 24 grams of protein by 4 = you just need 6 grams of powder in the scoop and it's not alot and mixes very easily into my jello - dulce de luche - yum yum and I get about 5 grams of protein - and i have done a full scoope in my 1/2 cup of soups and it mixes there easily too - but make sure you don't heat it over 130 degrees use a food themometer - which Unjury website sales if you just want to make one purchase....just saying! Good luck!

I was sleeved on the 30th! First three days were rough but got Alot easier. I'm drinking and getting jello, pudding n cream soup down fine. GNC has great protein shakes and the isopure creamy vanilla protein powder is great! I'm happy to say on day 6, I'm down 12 pounds. I'm truly happy with my decision! Yay to all of us July Sleevers

Me too ! I'm back 1/2 days right now. How was your first day back?

DJ you fluid and protien intake are really high in comparison to mine and others. Did you Doctor say why it is so much more. Mine is 64oz and 60-80 grams of protein. Interesting to know.

I had my sleeve July 29, 2013. So I'm only in my second week post-op. I'm really struggling. I feel hungry nearly all the time, which is not at all what I thought I would feel. Help! What's your secret words of wisdom??
