My doctor told me I need 1000 mg calcium with D3. B-12 as a monthly shot or under the tongue 1X monthly, a good multi vitamin with zinc in it. She said I need to have zinc will help prevent hair loss, however, don't take more if it is already in the multi-vitamin and iron if you still get periods. She stressed that the B-12 and Calcium are extremely important. It is not enough to get B-12 vitamins by mouth because your new stomach can't absorb it.
