BMI

Did any of you have the sleeve procedure even though your BMI was below 35. I started out with a higher BMI of 38.71 but it is 34.2 and I am nine weeks out. If you did get it done with a BMI of 35 or less, did your insurance submit that BMI or the BMI of the consult date? Thanks -

I was a 41 bmi at my seminar, lost 45 lbs on insurance required diet making me a 34bmi. I worried about the same thing, but was told insurance would not see current numbers, so I enjoyed my food funerals (not suggesting you do this, btw) till preop liquid diet (only had to do 5 days). No problem with insurance and I was 34.2 day of surgery.

My bmi was 28 and I was band to sleeve revsision. Thats the only reason my insurance paid - it was a complication from my lapband. Wow, you got your bmi down that much in 9 wks? I'm impressed

Good luck
