When can you "try" steak?

I am onnnnly 3 weeks post of and let me say this first:

I AM IN NOOOOO WAY TRYING TO EAT STEAK ANNNNNYTIME SOON!!

I have just seen varying "timeframes" on when you can eat/try it again..... I know that red meat stays in your stomach ( regular stomachs) for days.....

But,i was just wondering what others doctors recommend? I've seen some say their doc said 3 months.... while mine said 6 months..... And if some can "try it" after 3 months ( and we both have the sleeve...), would it be bad if I did? Seems like docs just have "personal preferences"....

Thoughts?

I think I tried it about week 6 - when I was allowed solid foods. Steak is actually easier on my stomach than chicken breast - go figure???? But it wasn't a big amount of steak - probably 3 or 5 smal

  • Steak stays in your stomach for days? Nothing stays in your stomach for days. I started eating anything and everything at 4 weeks, after clearance from my doctor. I've no issues with anything. Jus

All I want is a juicy INCREDIBLY RARE steak… I’m drooling thinking of it!! I’m so protein deficient. I Can’t hardly keep more than a couple ounces of a shake down. I gag and end up sick ? I am 4 weeks post op as of today and still can’t handle anything but liquid or purée texture. I was told to try eggs… I did twice and both times sick as a dog. I have tolerated chicken only if it’s a TINY speck in a soup… I’m beginning to feel like I will never be able to eat again.

  • 4 weeks later...

I started eating 7% ground beef taco meat at soft food stage, 1/3 cup and top my 1/2 c portion container with guacamole. Added a little salsa.

I had beef stew twice with roast beef but love steak. Will trial it at 3 months.

I am 7 weeks out and I cannot tolerate most meats ? but at my pure state they told me once I am on my regular food stage which I am to try wte I wanted to see what my body would tolerate.
