How was your 5:2 day today?

My biggest dilemma is that I have to take medicine in the morning. I don't want to eat until around 11 am because I like to have a late night snack of 100 calorie pack of cocoa dusted almonds. I've been putting off taking my medicine but the one I can't put off is an anti biotic.

I guess I can share this ,lol. I have to take an antibiotic before have sex or I will get a UTI.I have to take it with food.

I guess half of a Greek Yogurt would be 50 calories. I need to look up string cheese and baby bell light.

How about you? Is the 5:2 plan working with your life? I also don't like working out with my trainer on an empty stomach.

Will this not work if you have 11 hours in between instead of 12? There must be some reason you have to have 12 hours off.

Thanks Cowgirl, it is Niebles actually. I remember hearing about that person that was kicked off and I seem to remember that she wasn't actually a real coordinator, just an obsessive fan who tried to

Denise I only wanted comments deleted if we add them. Since we are just holding steady, doesn't matter to me. As far as I am concerned you have my blessing to reply to requests that we aren't accepting new members, not about 5:2, and will likely shut down vs expanding. I don't want you to feel bad for having to be the messenger!

Florinda, I ask myself if weighing 165 is better than 200, 300 and universally the answer is YES. I get frustrated too and wish I was trimmer/thin as I used to be. 145 seems impossible to me right now...and yet I keep coming back to avoiding the all or nothing thinking. For me, maintaining right here, even though I wish for skinniness, is a good place to be. Perhaps losing 5# a month is realistic and it is still a good place to be?

I took my first salsa and bachata lesson. Salsa was hard for me....

I missed out doing the swing thing this week because I was on a"first date" that went way long and I lost track of time!

5 lbs a month is a reasonable and healthy goal - I'll take it over gaining more any day of the week :)

The posts on eating more fats reminded me of an old favorite - fat guacamole devils (the name is almost as good as the recipe is) - these are delicious!

Denise - I hope this new surgery will help - sending healing thoughts your way!

Thought I would branch out and go read some other posts on the board for once in my life - just want to say that I think it is probably a good idea that Lipsticklady isn't in the group- she seems to take things really personally, and seems that she could be a 'pot-stirrer' - not that I know her at all.

I dunno - I tend to stay pretty far away from folks who don't seem to recognize that text carries no inflection - that if you are getting hurt and upset by posts that are not blatant attacks or harassment - that it is you who is bringing the negative vortex into play. Reminds me of having to go over this constantly with our girls and other folks on the web - pre-teen stuff.

I think I might try the keto a bit - I have never upped the fat that much, sounds like an interesting concept. I checked out that thread about regain on the vets forum and this link - interesting stuff - Coops, it's interesting that a shot of olive oil could possibly shake things up a bit :)

Yeah, I don't really want to add anyone to this group. I think when I get some extra time, I will pm anyone who hasn't posted and ask if they want to be removed from the group. I can always say you can come back in if you start to post again. The person I am thinking of is Brown. I would gladly let her back in.

Sheryl, I hope your first date is promising!

I've never counted anything except carbs. A low carb diet is natural in higher fats. You can have things like mayo, butter, ( I don't) but if you aren't eating carbs, you can't help but eat more fats. My downfall is salad dressing. you don't count the carbs but I am sure it's high in calories.

Kelly, that is so interesting! Thanks for sharing that link. I had just recently started reading about macros and that seems to spell it all out and calculate everything. I'm going to play around with it some more.

I found it a bit humorous that Lipstick thinks we talk about her in this group. We are talking about her right now but rarely do we talk about anyone other than ourselves and what's going on in our lives! We are all busy and sometimes don't even have enough time to update here much less sit here and talk about the other members of BP. Lol

I wish Brown would come back and update. Sheila too. I'm sure there are others that aren't coming to me right now.

Sheryl, come clean with the details on the date!

I have gone on a couple of casual dates. I saw someone named Jim a few times... nice man, family oriented, fit, many good attributes but he just did not appeal to me. needy was the big reason. Also, do you ever meet someone who meets your requirements, and yet you still just don't find them appealing? weird. I decided to not keep seeing him.

I have seen a man named Dan a few times - he is a Data Scientist at a big software company but is ALSO a professional musician. He is fun. i wish he were fitter, but I really enjoy his company so I am going to keep seeing him... still very light and casual. I am going to watch him play music for the second time at a big festival that is coming up - looking forward to that.

The person I just met, Doug was a bit of a surprise. We just had a glass of wine and delicious shrimp at the restaurant at the Willows Lodge and talked for hours. I think we are going either out on his (very small) boat or perhaps for a hike this weekend.

To be honest, i am not feeling very relationship ready at the moment. I feel like the longer I am single, the less I am interested in something that fits the traditional "relationship" mode. I dont know what is wrong with me, but I just see it as not really worth the effort.

I am having some health problems right now too ... and I suspect that impacts my attitude as well.

Well, weighed this morning, still 215.8, like it has been for a week. Today coho salmon and homemade garlic mayo

Went to an art opening at my local gallery, here is a pic of my friend and gallery owner Mima, my crazy neighbor Robert and me....Cant really see my figure there... Bill Cosby sweater around hips and fake snake purse in the way... Had a fun night, saw lots of old friends, glass of wine... nice weather. Got home and Craig messaged he was on the way home early... he went on a motorcycle trip to Montana for 9 days.

Will you post your garlic mayo recipe if you have time?

Live the pic.. is he standing on tippy toes because he too wants high heels? :)

He didn't want to look like a shrimp between two tall women... hehehe, I didn't even know he was doing that until I saw the photo...

Kim, you look amazing! x

Indeed you look fabulous! I love your hair - you look stunning :)

I created a new little document to track my measurements over time - I had been entering it in a small paper journal, but have run out of room. I added a column for notes/behaviors/activity - of course the topics I usually avoid when I have fallen way to the wayside of the healthy track.

Thanks for that link Kim - I am going to try the keto thing - (this honestly sounds way more fun than Whole 30 lol - my family would NOT be on board with something that austere) but meat, eggs, cheese - those are things we will all eat. I am about 197 (cringe) right now and here is what that calculator gave me for macros at a 30% deficit - which they say can be hard, but I can always adjust it down. Also set it to sedentary - I know myself and I slack on the exercise as much as I do water - so anything over sedentary is a bonus.

Daily Calories

1256

20 g. carbs

90 g. protein

91 g. fat

It says to maintain - my cals would be 1794 - which is right in there with what the machine at my surgeons office says, which had me at 1800 something - though I think my lean body mass was higher - this regain is astonishing in how "flabbaliscious" all the extra fat is - its like I have a new outfit filled with jello or something :)

Hope you guys are doing well and hanging in there - love ya!
