Just curious if anyone has been denied insurance coverage but then approved on appeal? If so how did it happen and with what ins company?

Yes, Aetna. I was denied then appealed & approved

I was denied by BC/BS two weeks before my scheduled surgery. They stated that my surgery was not medically needed. My Surgeon had a "peer to peer" appeal the the insurance company's physician and I was approved.

Blue Cross Anthem -I was denied due to one random lower weight on first appointment. I re weighed at local dr office , had that weight and history of previous higher weight from prior check ups sent to vsg dr. He did Peer to Peer appeal and I was approved in days. Had my surgery 10 days later.

I was denied twice. My surgeon faxed an appeal letter and my husband talked to his HR rep at work who then called the insurance rep to see what they could do. I was approved less then a day after the HR rep got involved. I'm not sure who actually got it approved, maybe it was all of them but I was finally approved :)

I was denied the first time with BCBS of MN, but then approved with appeal 3 weeks later.
