I had mine yesterday morning and was released a out 130p today. Doing well so far. The left side incision is very sore, worst getting up and down. Worst think so far has been the heartburn/reflux...and anything I drink seems to hurt going down, I can even feel it hit my new stomach. I'm hoping that subsides in the next day or so.

The liquids do feel funny going down for the first several days. Mine started feeling normal on day #4. Getting in the liquids is hard but keep up on them and walk as much as you can. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions. I am POD #8

Hi, I had mine done six days ago and have been going through the same issues. It gets a little better every day. Walk as much as possible and drink very slow. My doctor gave me medicine for the nausea and reflux, and for the pain.

Stay positive it'll get better.

Regards,

Lucy

I am on meds for acid that the surgeon prescribed, so no reflux for me. I'm 4 days post-op, so just now on my second day of full liquids. I spent 2 nights in the hospital and felt like I really needed it. I couldn't imagine going home before that...I was still having a lot of trouble with anesthesia side effects before that. Anyway, the thing I'm having the mist trouble with is sipping slowly enough. When I'm thirsty I just want to drink! But I've managed to get the fluids and Protein in so far. I have felt significantly better each day. It will get better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
