Help!!

I was chewing gum after my vitamin and I might of swallowed it! It has been 45 min and I am not feeling any pain. I am so looped on pain meds, I don't know what happened to the gum!

What should I do?

Well - have you had any problems with drinking Water? Are you really swollen from surgery? Do you have a VG band?

It may be that the gum will just pass on thru... I would just wait and see.

If you can drink water and stuff, then you are probably ok.

That is one of the questions I asked my doctor if I could chew gum. He said absolutely not because if it does get stuck then it is a real mess to try and fish it out. I would suggest not chewing gum anymore. :rolleyes

THanks, I learned my lesson! However, I keep a nasty taste in my mouth from surguery because I am having really bad nose bleeds.

oh gosh you poor sod i was chewing gum too and someone started talking and i almost swallowed it the same with one of those lemon mouth freshners,if it gets stuck take sip of coca cola as fizz will hopefully move it then you must try to get it up ....i would drink warm drink first though and try and help it through and move to ice pops for mouth refreshment dont beat yourself up about it though easy mistake

I thought I was the only one who swallowed their gum without knowing it!:biggrin1: I won't even try to chew gum now because all my life I have swallowed my gum without even realizing I had done it, so I don't want to take that chance! I'm surprised the doctor didn't tell me they had to remove a huge wad of gum from my stomach before they could operate!:)

Probably better off not taking any chances.
