Multivitamin with or w/out iron?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at two of the same Multivitamins, one is with Iron and the other is without. I have heard that people get constipated after the surgery so I am thinking that maybe a Vitamin without iron would be best. But then I also understand the importance of iron too. Plus about 5 years ago I was anemic when I was bleeding internally and lost 2 liters of blood. I'm fine now but maybe getting a vitamin with iron would be a good thing? I don't know. I don't want to be constipated. I'm not sure what I should be getting. Also, am I crazy to be getting pill form? I was told I could get pill form but I'm guessing after surgery it will be very difficult to take. I plan to use a Gummy vitamin right after surgery, which I was told would be ok too. How long after surgery would I be able to take the pill form again?

Have you spoken with your Nut about this? I take a multi with added Iron, but the Nut said I could do this and in pill form since a week or two after surgery. It seems to be working for me. But perhaps your Nut or Dr knows something else and they know your particular situation, so I would consult with them about this.

If you use the Gummy Vitamins then I would suggest taking an Iron pill. That’s what I do. I physically can not stomach chewable vitamins, they make me puke. The Iron pills do make me nauseous so I take one very other night before bed. That way I sleep it off.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
