Price? Negotiable?

Hi all

Was wondering if any of you hav surgery in UK and were able to negotiate the price with the surgeon. I know this sounds odd but I have read in another forum that one lady managed to reduce her price by aprox £2k? Just wondered if this was realistic?

I'm not in the UK, but there is an old saying, "money talks". If you have the cash to prepay the surgery everything is negotiable. .

Ha that's true. I have a low bmi for sleeve surgery so I can not have this on NHS. I paid privately for a gastric band - which failed :(

yeah cause everything you read on the internet is true.... Its probably not that much of a discount.

I am a realtor and I don't discount my fees often. I am worth my fee's and so is your surgeon.

The thought of cut price surgery makes me feel icky.

I self paid, and it was not cheap, but I wanted to make sure I had the best possible care. My surgeon offered different packages which included nutritionists etc and there was even an option to add psychologists, gym memberships and personal trainers to the package. So it could be that some aspects of the package deal are negotiable but I wouldn't want to barter on many thing else.....

I've always been the sort to just pay the price on the sticker... It wasn't until I met my exhusband that I learned that price can often be negotiated... He even once negotiated the cost of a root canal and crown for me.
