Sleeved May 6th. Down 20 pounds from 234 5'4". I am having a hard time getting my Protein in since post op. I can drink plenty of fluids just not protein shakes :( I have tried several. I just got to purée stage and have tolerated some food. I just have this constant bad taste in my mouth no matter how many times a day I brush my teeth/tounge. Does anyone else have this problem? Congrats on everyone's success :)

Yes! I was just thinking the same thing about the bad taste in my mouth. I have been brushing my teeth several times a day and the bad taste just comes back after a while. Im still in the liquid stage so I was thinking maybe that had something to do with it but I don't know...glad to know I'm not the only one though. I was starting to think something was wrong with me.

It really does suck! I thought mine would have gone away with eating some food but not yet. If you find a solution please let me know, and I will too! I can't stand anything sweet either and I think that is why I can't tolerate the shakes. But I need to get Protein in or I will loose my hair :( Best of luck to you!!!

I am having a really hard time and have been stewing on it for a dew hours.. Sleeved April 30th. Went home for 5 hours went back dehydrated... Stayed six more days... They let me go because I had no more workable veins... Everything makes my stomach turn...Im lucky if I make 30oz a day... I feel so damned weak I have pulses where I shouldnt..over the weekend was feeling better and was able to get fluids down... The past 2 days nothing again.. I get no sleep either. All tests come back normal... Anyone else have this... I feel like Im going to be stuck like this

I had mine on May 15th. Wednesday starts week 2 and I can FINALLY have thicker liquids. Can Anyone explain exactly what "thicker" liquids are??

My dr allows yogurt (frozen or normal) , the "cream ofs" Soups, Protein shakes :)-- I like smoothie king's gladiator vanilla powder

Thinned grits and anything you ate during clear

Sorry to hear this. Sure hope it gets better SOON!!! Did they try giving you nausea meds??

I had my surgery may 14 and I'm down 14 pounds. I'm still having a little trouble getting my liquids down because I'm having to take tiny sips since its still making me feel a little sick. I have more energy it seems like but when I get up and move around I get a little dizzy and I get out of breath very quickly...even just going from living room to bathroom. Anyone else having this problem?

I had surgery on the 17th and I'm short of breath as well. My hospital wanted us to practice 12 deep breathes an hour. I'm sure it's normal.

May 13th and down 11 lbs... What is everyone doing for activity and how often?

I was sleeved the 14th and I'm 11 down also-- my mom and I have been going to places like the mall or grocery stores- I get to walk a ton and I don't even realize it.. Also been trying to walk around the house

I get winded just going from one room to the next too. Also having a really difficult time getting in my liquids. Was sleeved May 13 and am down 21 lbs. am really missing eating and drinking. Am hoping week 2 post op gets better. Am feeling very down. This is definitely NOT the easy way out!

I had surgey May 1. I am down 31lbs. My body is somewhat sore because I had the sleeve and my ballbladder removed at the same time. Honestly I ate moist chicken and spinach yesterday and I felt fine. My doctor has me on full liquids until I see him next week but I am miserable on it. I had to do two weeks pre op and 5 weeks post op. Hopefully the struggle gets better because I am wanting food especially since I have began to cook again for my hubby and kids.

Did u lose all 31 lbs since surgery or was done of that pre-op!

Sleeved on May 7th. Lost 25 lbs on pre-op diet, and 19 since the surgery. So 44 lbs total.

Sleeved 5/8, down 16 pounds since surgery and down 41 pounds total including the pre-op diet. I have been feeling great, and have had no issues since surgery. I start my pureed stage on Wednesday, which I am nervous about. Congratulations everyone on their success. :)

Gas-X strips! worked for me' date=' anyway.

I'm 32 y/o female, sleeved 5/2. Down 27lbs since surgery. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Doing great - have had zero nausea, vomiting, dizziness since day one! Getting about 1000 cals a day and 90g Protein. Can drink normally - haven't felt hungry since pre-op! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

What are you doing to get your 90g of protein? Thats the hardest thing I hve to deal with...that and getting fluids.

They only gave me anti nausea meds in the hospital none for home...i have been taking protein to go to get my protein in which is a 2.5 oz bottle of a puree it tastes good and 27 grams of protein. It does have the colafenig protein but whey protein as well... Its better then nothing right now but I hope this doesnt last forever

Anything that is liquid at room temperature counts. For example yogurt (Greek is better), creamed Soups and pudding. Farina is also considered a thicker liquid.
