Protein Powders & Vitamins, OH MY!

I know you ALL have been asked a few times about Protein powder & Vitamins but, I would really like to know what your favorite is at the moment? Also, what is a good unflavored Protein powder?

I start my pre-op real soon & would like to sample as many as possible before my big day.

Thank you so much!

-Molly

Costco's Premium Protein shakes are good. I have chocolate and vanilla. They are affordable, easy to pack along and taste good. OK warm in a pinch too. Shel - Olathe, KS

  • And if you're a Costco member, their coupon booklet has $5 off the Premier Shakes. You can get 2 packs each $5 off. Ours usually are $22.99 for an 18 pack. So with the coupon, it makes them under $1

  • For unflavored, I have found both Unjury and the GNC brand unflavored whey powders work well. Seem to dissolve easily, and not gritty.

Those are yummy, thx!

And if you're a Costco member, their coupon booklet has $5 off the Premier Shakes. You can get 2 packs each $5 off. Ours usually are $22.99 for an 18 pack. So with the coupon, it makes them under $1 each. Sam's carries them, too, but their price is $18.88 for a 12 pack. The prices maybe higher or lower in your area, but gives you an idea of the cost.

For unflavored, I have found both Unjury and the GNC brand unflavored whey powders work well. Seem to dissolve easily, and not gritty.

I've found the Syntrax Nectar to be a nice alternative. It can be ordered online from a lot of sites. BJBariatrics has a "build your own" sampler so you could go choose the flavors that interest you in packets that will make 16 oz each. There are a number of fruity flavors, as well as chocolate, vanilla and such. I also like the Unjury unflavored that is mentioned above, and the Unjury chicken broth is pretty decent, too.

I am just a few days post-op and the unjury chicken Soup flavor has been great for me. Since the flavor is savory and not sweet, it feels more like food to me. I also added this to cream of chicken soup on my pre-op diet and it's good.

I also love the Syntrax Nectars. chocolate truffle is my favorite so far, but I haven't tried a lot of them yet.

And as for vitamins--I ordered the Bariatric Advantage multivitamin in berry flavor. I can hardly chew it. The flavor is just gross to me. Haven't found a new one to take yet....

I really like Costco's Premier Protein. Haven't tried the chocolate yet. It has low calories, low sugar and high protein. Atkins at the regular store is the same, but a little more gritty.

WooHoo, thanks everyone! I just received the Syntrax samples & only tried the Caribbean Cooler.

I just put in an order to unjury for their samples too.

And thx for the heads up for the costco coupon!

I love this site!
